Several months later someone finally asks me to draw something. (I've volenteered a picture of Mickey Mouse, but that was a fast 2-hour thing)
Now I get 'comissioned' to do a picture for a poster- in exchange for entry to a birthday party/rave. Woot. I'm all for that - and I've never done anything close to a commision.
I get out a set of 30min-1hour sketches, but none of them are 'good enough' (I should upload the good one of those - I liked it) Another hour sketch. Fine. Not great. She likes that one, and OK's going full onto it. Upgrade of anatomy and flow for the picture another hour before I blow it up and go for the 2700x3000 (or whatever it is) version.
Halfway through she tells me they don't need it - they changed the name and theme of the party. Raaaah!!!
I've got a printed A4 version in my hand at the moment, and it's looking pretty good. I've got to thicken the hell out of some of the lines, and add a little greyscale, then it's done.
Now to hold out and finish that before I go off and get started on my next idea - more tanks and guns! :3 Bwa ha aha.
(I wonder how long I can keep doing one journal per year?)
